[…] Open to senior students of architecture, interior architecture and design, as well as to graduates from 2003 and 2004, the "elementary architecture(s)" competition invited participants to submit a project for an individual home on an urban, residential or brownfield site using the ALGECO basic industrial module, considered here as an architectural material in its own right.

The aim was to explore the huge potential offered by modular construction in individual housing. Today, proven models are increasingly out of step with our contemporary lifestyles and the arrival of new technologies in the home. The aim therefore is to rethink the home, and the need to move towards modular, flexible, open-ended housing is eminently clear. ALGECO has positioned these three strong points at the core of its modular construction offering and range, so it is only natural that it should contribute to these ongoing studies. […]
